Located in Ecuador, in perfect harmony with the Zaire River and ten minutes from the center of Soyo, Angola, Soyo Village offers an opportunity to rediscover an ancient concept: the use of wood as the foundation material for sustainable construction. Designed with an ecological vision in mind, Soyo Village promotes contact with nature and outdoor living, allowing for sports and leisure activities and the enjoyment of the surrounding space. Atelier Hemisfério Sul leveraged the versatility of the treehouse modules, allowing the project to be adapted to individual and group needs. This solution promotes socialization among its residents and is suitable for stays of varying lengths. Wood is the base material for the entire project: pleasing to the eye, smell, and touch, it provides a high-quality, warm, and inviting environment. The housing units are constructed using a system consisting of ventilated walls, illuminated panels, double glazing, and thermal insulation, thus adapting to the climate characteristics of the African continent.
