During the COVID-19 pandemic, Kairos Montessori School faced extraordinary challenges as it sought to build a unique educational environment with a tight deadline. The choice of wood as a building material was not a response to budgetary obstacles, but rather a conscious decision to use a sustainable material, in line with the school's environmental and educational values. In partnership with Jular, the school opted for a modular, prefabricated approach to meet their needs. By integrating the principles of the Montessori philosophy into a modular and flexible architecture, the school has provided a spacious and open environment where students can explore and learn in direct contact with nature. Despite the restrictions of the pandemic, the commitment of the Jular team and the school community was fundamental to complete the project on time and with excellence. Thus, the new Kairos school not only offers an exceptional educational approach, but also serves as an inspiring model of how it is possible to build sustainably, even in challenging times.
